Hey, to the other people who got offered the NYU Masters...did you tell them you weren't accepting it? I completely forgot about it and don't have the paper anywhere either. I'm assuming it doesn't matter, but do I need to tell them I won't be going? I notified everyone else, but somehow totally spaced this one.

I'm not sure what the protocol is, but I would probably just send them a "thanks, but no thanks" by email -- that'll at least save you from looking all over for that paper.

I would, just to be on the safe/polite side. I told Maryland I wouldn't be accepting their unfunded masters, if only to get them to stop sending me update emails on how to enroll, etc. (I would have told them my decision anyway, since it was an offer just like any other funded offer). With all the emails they sent me, it seemed like an acceptance of their offer was their default assumption!

(Also, I'm so sorry I haven't emailed you back yet! I've had a crazy week. But I want to know about how your housing search is going. You'll hear from me tomorrow :-)

ditto. I would contact them but a brief email to the dgs or grad sec should suffice.

They sent me a little form with a box to check off if i wasn't coming. I just mailed that in. Or an email would be fine. But yeah, I think it's polite to let them know.

I mailed the form in yesterday, in addition to emailing the professor who contacted me to discuss the MA.

I do think silence means "no," but for politeness's sake, I'd let them know conclusively.

Thanks guys! I sent an email last night. I should have definitely sent in that card though. I hope they don't think I'm rude :(

Eh. They were not exactly exemplary masters of politeness in the application process themselves, in my opinion, so if you've done your best to let them know (which you have), don't sweat it.
